Terms of Service

Story ScriptVault uses OAuth authentication exclusively. We do not store passwords. You can sign in using:

• Discord: Sign in with your Discord account
• GitHub: Sign in with your GitHub account

You can link multiple OAuth accounts to a single Story ScriptVault account for flexible access.

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your linked OAuth accounts
• Each person may only maintain one account
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• Sharing account access or credentials with others is prohibited

You are solely responsible for all content you create, upload, or share on Story ScriptVault, including scripts, comments, and profile information. All content must comply with our Community Guidelines and applicable laws.

We reserve the right to:

• Review, monitor, and moderate all user-generated content
• Remove, hide, or restrict access to content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines
• Suspend or terminate accounts for violations
• Disable comments on specific scripts if necessary
• Issue warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans as appropriate

Note: We do not guarantee the preservation of any content. Maintain backups of important scripts outside of our platform.

You retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights in the content you create and upload to Story ScriptVault. We do not claim ownership of your scripts, comments, or other content.

By uploading content to Story ScriptVault, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

• Host, store, and distribute your content on our platform
• Display your content to other users of the platform
• Allow other users to download your scripts according to the license you specify
• Make backups and technical copies necessary for platform operation

This license terminates when you delete your content, except for technical copies retained for backups, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.

You represent and warrant that you either:

• Own all intellectual property rights to the content you submit, or
• Have obtained all necessary permissions, licenses, and rights to submit the content

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the EU Copyright Directive and Austrian copyright law. If you believe your copyright has been infringed under EU or Austrian law, please contact us at [email protected] with:

• A description of the copyrighted work
• The URL of the infringing content
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief that the use is not authorized

When you publish a script, you must specify a license that defines how others can use your work. Available licenses include:

• If your script is derived from or inspired by another work, you must provide proper attribution
• Use the Credits field to acknowledge sources, inspirations, or contributors
• Respect the license terms of any code you build upon
• Give credit where credit is due - it builds trust and community goodwill

You are responsible for:

• Understanding the license you select
• Ensuring your script complies with licenses of any dependencies or incorporated code
• Respecting others' license terms when using their scripts

Platform Disclaimer: Story ScriptVault is not liable for license violations. We provide the tools, but license compliance is your responsibility.

Note: These are simplified examples. Always include the full license text or a link to it in your script repository or documentation.

• We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access to the platform
• The platform may experience downtime for maintenance or due to technical issues
• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time

We are not responsible for:

• The accuracy, quality, safety, or legality of user-generated content
• Script functionality, compatibility with NovelAI, or fitness for any purpose
• Damages caused by using scripts from our platform
• Loss of data, scripts, or other content

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Story ScriptVault and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the platform.

We reserve the right to:

• Suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms or Community Guidelines
• Restrict access to specific features (e.g., commenting, script uploads) for violations
• Remove content that violates our policies
• Take these actions with or without prior notice, depending on severity

You can delete your account at any time through Settings → Danger Zone. When you delete your account:

• Your profile will be anonymized (name becomes "Deleted User")
• Your email will be retained to prevent ban evasion (GDPR legitimate interest)
• Your scripts and comments remain but are anonymized
• Moderation records are retained permanently for platform safety

Violations may result in penalties ranging from warnings to permanent bans. All penalties can be appealed. See our Community Guidelines for detailed information about:

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Austria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. As a non-profit community project based in Vienna, Austria, we operate under Austrian jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also benefit from mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence that cannot be waived by contract.

• Right to Information: Clear information about the service before you sign up
• Right to Withdraw: As a free, non-profit community platform, statutory withdrawal rights under the Consumer Rights Directive may not apply. However, you may delete your account at any time via Settings.
• Right to Remedies: Right to seek remedies for defective services under applicable law
• Right to Non-Discriminatory Terms: Fair and transparent terms of service
• Data Protection Rights: Full GDPR rights as detailed in our Privacy Policy

In accordance with EU regulations, consumers may also use online dispute resolution platforms:

We are willing to participate in dispute settlement proceedings before a consumer arbitration board when required by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Austrian or EU law.
